Chocolate Chip Cookies and Amazing Customers allowed us to donate $700 dollars to Tunnel To Towers in August!! For one week, 100% of the proceeds from our chocolate chip cookies were donated (140 packs of cookies!).
While we love donating cookies to nursing homes and first responders, this first monetary donation just hit different. We love being able to make a difference! Tunnel to Towers is an organization that started after 9/11 and does so much but a lot of what they do is paying off mortgages of fallen first responders and donating houses to in-need veterans. We were especially drawn to donate to T2T after hearing that they paid off the mortgage of fallen fire fighter/EMT Charles Swank. He served the Washington Township Fire Dept in Dublin, OH and worked beside my cousin. What an amazing and far-reaching organization. Thank you for all that you do!
If you would like to get involved, you can donate directly or they have great 5k runs in many cities around the country but the most amazing is the one they host in NYC. Running through Battery Tunnel and coming out at the base of One World Trade and the memorials is an amazing feeling. When you come out of the tunnel, the street is lined with first responders who are cheering for the runners/walkers! Can you imagine?! We want to cheer and thank them! And we will continue to do so!
