Behind the Bakery

My New Year's resolution for the year of 2020 was to start sending cookies to my Grandma in Ohio and my husband's Grandpa in Oregon. Neither of us call our grandparents as often as we would like and this allowed us to show them that we're thinking of them (and it actually started weekly communication!). My grandma is in an assisted living home and she would tell us about residents who didn't get many (or any) visitors or letters and packages. Quite a few times my grandma takes her weekly treats out to share with her friends after dinner.

As the year went on, my shipping group grew to include my adopted grandma and grandpa in Pennsylvania. Adding my PA grandparents really made my love for this new venture grow. I get weekly calls from Grandma Linsley and she's always so grateful and amazed by the cookies. It's such a good weekly call to get and it always brightens my day!

At the beginning of 2021, I quit my 9-5 to follow my dreams of being self-employed. As I navigated what that meant, I had quite a few people push me towards baking. It also made me think about not just baking but paying it forward too. By selling cookies, I could also gift cookies locally to various nursing homes and first responders. We'd love to hear from you! As this business started to take shape, a friend and mentor suggested that I name it in honor of the grandparents who inspired it; "BOB" in honor of my Grandma Bobbie, "EY" in honor of my husband's Grandpa Aubrey and "LOU" for my adopted grandparents Frank and Marilou.

Thank you for visiting our site and we hope we made you smile!
